MD11 Operators - Passenger

Summer 2013 schedules commenced on Sunday 30th March. This page has now become basically the KLM page as they alone are offering passenger flights on MD11's still.

Passenger operators have now dwindled to the point that just KLM are left. World Airways operate a lot of ad hoc charters and military charters.

Flight schedules shown use the 3 letter airport codes. After the flight number are days of operation ; 1 = Mondays, 2 = Tuesdays and so on, DX = Operates daily except, then the day number so DX7 means operates daily except Sundays, DX14 = operates daily except Mondays and Thursdays.

KLM operates 6 MD11's from its Amsterdam hub to destinations in Asia, Africa and North America and all are named after famous ladies. The fleet from 10 in 2012 will lessen this year after 2 more MD11's are withdrawn.

The aircraft are configured with 24 World Business class seats (rows 1-6), 38 Economy comfort seats (rows 7-11) and 223 Economy seats (rows 12-40). All seats have personal tv's. Economy class is configured 3x3x3 seating with row 39 being 2x3x2. The Economy comfort seats give a few inches more leg room and a greater seat recline and there is a charge for these seats. With some aircraft being withdrawn, route changes are inevitable. For Summer 2013 schedules there are big reductions in MD11 operations. Some flights are MD11 operated short term only and the only regular service throughout the Summer is the daily Montreal rotation. MD11's make a welcome return to Toronto on selected days & dates and infact will see 2 MD11's on certain dates and the seasonal Los Angeles flight runs again.
